Archive for the ‘sceneries’ CategoryHello Mommies! Forgive me I was not able to join in the last two weeks but part of the activities I accomplished was accompany my son in his field trip which is the subject for today’s Mommy Moment entry. It was a memorable day because the temperature was 34 degrees Celsius. Imagine that sizzling heat? Besides, we stopped in NLEX twice for 40 minutes due to mechanical problem (Yes the bus was not in good condition, that’s why most parents were dismayed). As a result, we arrived late in Clark, Pampanga’s Nayong Filipino though we still met some companion there while the others were already in Paradise Ranch. Here are some of Kuya’s pic in Nayong Pilipino together with an Igorot native who performed some ethnic music and dance.
Next stop was in Zoobic where the kids enjoyed feeding the birds, the ostrich and other animals.
We proceeded in Paradise Ranch by lunch time and went off to Fontana after where the kids really enjoyed the rest of the day.
After the blue moon experience on New Year’s Eve, we will witness again another natural event in astronomy – the partial solar eclipse where the moon will partially cover the sun. It will be seen in some areas of the country at it will be the longest solar eclipse this year, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). Pagasa stated that,” The eclipse magnitude will be 8.2 percent and will also be visible primarily from Alaska, Australia, Indonesia, Asia, Africa, Europe including the British Isles and the Arctic Region. The eclipse will begin at 1:17 Philippine Standard Time (PST) and will end at 5:28 AM (PST).“ Aside from the blue moon and partial lunar eclipse, Quadrantid meteor shower - which started last January 1 of 40 meteors per hour, will be visible until tonight.
After the wrath of Typhoons Ondoy, Pepeng and Santi comes another reason why it is important to protect our natural environment - the Philippines was named one of the best new travel destinations in the world by The National Geographic Magazine. Typhoon Ondoy caused tremendous flood in Metro Manila and typhoon Pepeng which for the second time made landfall in the Philippines left some place in North Luzon, particularly the Cordillera Administrative Region and parts of Central Luzon, under mud and water.
Metro Manila and its suburbs experienced tropical depression Ondoy’s wrath. As I was on my way to the office last Saturday, I was welcomed by the rain and flood. I even submerged to a knee high flood in Mindanao Avenue just to reach the other side where I can have a jeepney ride to SM. Luckily, I was able to passed through that dirty water and thought there would be no problem anymore until when I reached Congressional Avenue where I was glued to my position seeing this catastrophic scene.
This photo is tricky. I was on the air but it seemed that I’m kneeling on the ground. Happy WS!
