Another Filipino brought honor to the country. Efren Peñaflorida was hailed as CNN Hero of the Year because of his dedication to bring education to street children through his “Kariton Klasrum”. Efren topped the online voting and aside from the honor, Efren’s Dynamic Teen Company will receive $100,000 to help them continue their advocacy to teach the poor children using their pushcarts that carries all of their educational materials. Again, congratulations to Efren and to the nine others who belonged to the Top 10 CNN Heroes! We can watch the awarding on November 26, 2009 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the global networks of CNN in time for the Thanksgiving Day.
