If you have been blogging for a while, you probably know now how important page rank is to one’s blog. When I was new in blogging, I really don’t know and I didn’t care about the technical side of it. I became aware of this issue only when other bloggers started to talk about how their Google page rank improves and rant about when it suddenly drops to zero. And because of that I got curious about my own PR. Is it doing better like other blogs or how can I develop my site more to attract more visitors and good traffic flow?

I was happy to know that my blog has a page rank of 3 and like other bloggers feel when I got sad when it dropped to 1. So I decided to read information about increasing page rank.

One thing that I learn to improve page rank is to submit your website to web directories. Web directory is different from Search Engine but both are big factors for you to be able to have a good page rank.

Web directories contains list of websites in a wide range of categories like for example the Yahoo! Directory while search engines are tool that is designed to search information on the web.

There is a free web directory while others require a one-time charge before you can include your website on their listing. Other web directories require only a link back or reciprocal link so your website will be added to their listing. And there are some directories with specialization too like business web directory or shopping directory.

I remember a fellow blogger who told me to enter my website in a SEO friendly web directory. From my understanding, SEO friendly directory allows search engine to mine data from them.

Until now I made it a point to add my site on free web directories and read more about search engine optimization.
