This shot was taken during the actual procession of the Black Nazarene from Luneta Grandstand to Quiapo Church last January 9, 2009. According to reports, three million devotees attended the vigil, procession and whole day mass.
The feast of the Black Nazarene is the biggest and most celebrated religious event (aside of course from Christmas) in the Philippines.

As planned, I went to Quiapo Church after work to attend mass. Hubby and I met after. He was in the church from 12 noon till 10 in the evening to witness the procession. Here are some snapshots I took during the feast.

my mother was used to be an active devotee of Black Nazarene. you got good shots of the procession, amazing! But you know what, I find it regrettable that people can be so fanatic without regard to the safety of others. I’ve seen the procession on TV and the crowd was just so wild, the holiness of the activity was all but lost.
