Today is the 407th year of the Feast of the Black Nazarene. This religious event is one of the most stunning feast in the Philippines. Millions of devotees flocked Quiapo Church to attend mass and join the traditional procession to strengthen their faith. Barefooted men fulfill their vow by eagerly hold and touching the rope that pulls the caravan of the Nazarene all throughout the procession ad hails, “Viva SeƱor!”
For three years, I attended mass at Quiapo Church, especially every first Friday of the month. Last year, hubby and I bought a t-shirt as a memorabilia. Even though I’m pregnant now I’m going to Quiapo Church tonight to hear the mass and give thanks to Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno for all the blessings and answered prayers.
